FOOD OR SKYSCRAPERS

ACROSS THE TRACKS: a part of a town that is considered poor and dangerous

FOOD OR SKYSCRAPERS?
Johann Wagener 3-11-13
That depends on what side of the tracks you’re on.  For the 1% who throw money at anything that attracts them lack of food is not even on their radar. On the other hand, for those millions (if not billions) of people who don’t know where their next meal will come from, or when it will come, it’s a no-brainer.
That’s explains why Hugo Chaves is a thorn in the side of the 1% who don’t appreciate his not playing by their rules.
Chaves like to “spread the wealth” his country generates from its oil while the 1% (specifically in the U.S.) prefer to either hoard it or waste it on baubles. The 1% call Chaves a “dictator” even though he was democratically elected by the majority of Venezuelans. They accuse him of corruption as if they are not guilty of much worse crimes that make them “too big to prosecute.”
Maybe Americans can pull a page out of the Chaves playbook and start walking the talk when it comes to being a democracy “for the people – by the people.”
